In fear of oversleeping and appearing to be lazy western tourists I had set my alarm clock for 7am, but I really didn't need to. The cockerels started at 4.30am and drove me out of bed by 5.30! I never thought that cock-a-doodle-do would be enough to drive me from my bed at such an early hour, but when there is a plethora of cockerels all competing under your bedroom "window" you really don't have much choice.

I discovered the rest of the family up and about, the mother preparing breakfast and the son getting ready for school. I then roused the girls, Katie and Niamh had slept with ear plugs in and so had the muffled version of the dawn chorus.
I pottered off to find Pete and Co. They were sat outside supping coffee surrounded by their menagerie. I shall let Pete tell you of their morning activities.
