Day 4 - Nan

Our train rolled into the station at 6am, we had woken at 5.55am!! So a very quick dash to get up and off of the train, but we were all safely deposited on the platform.
Pok has taken this train over 100 times and it has never been early, so a great suprise !

We then had a 3 hour drive up through the hills to Nan, where we fell into the hotel ready for breakfast and consumed an excess of toast, fruit and coffee, still not quite ready to face fried rice for breakfast!

We had the morning at lesiure, so we donned swimming costumes and headed to the pool, gloriously cold and refreshing. Miss Rose set a fabulous example by turning slightly lobster coloured. Supposedly sun tan lotion was applied but the constant dips in and out of the pool didn't really help!

Lunch in the hotel was a more of the lemon grass soup, which you either love or hate, this time with chicken. Beef with ginger (a lot of ginger!) and chicken with vegetables, and some sweet and sour chicken that Niamh claimed tasted of barnacles, quite why she knows what barnacles taste like is beyond me! The food is fabulous, but it's too hot and humid to have a real appetite.
