Day 6 Homestay - The tour of the village - River

After lunch we headed down to the river where the locals had laid out rugs for us to sit on under the shade of some trees. There was a glorious breeze and we lounged peacefull chatting or reading. The women-folk sat with us making a floral display and the men folk attempted to get the engine working on the boat. Some of the village elders sat with us to "chat" showing us pictures of previous visitors and asking about us.

Most of us wandered into the shallows for a paddle, and much hilarity was caused by the gloopy sticky mud.

They never did manage to get the boat working!

When the children returned from school the games started, all the girls participating with either volleyball, football or the well known jumping-over-a-rubber-band-string-barefoot-onto-gravel game. Hazel tried her best to do her Beckham impression however what she lacked in skill she made up for with energy. She was "leaking" a little after the match !
