Arrived safe and sound yesterday, flight delayed a little from Manchester.
Our Tour Leader - Pok met us and our adventure begam.
Nice central hotel to start with, then off to the Khao San Road for a bite to eat, its very sticky, and we all leaked (sweated) a little.

Rested and off to face a city tour of the madness that is Bangkok.
The beautiful grand palace with its temples, buildings and gardens.

The Grand palace temple was being renovated and there was an opportunity to donate and sign a roof tile. Teesside High now have a signed tile which will be installed on the roof !

Ok I know now that I should of payed more attention, we visited a stupar or temple which was very tall and steep, most of us scrambled up the steps for a great city view.

River trip then followed on the Chrao Praya river its canals and back waters. Children swimming, people washing and cleaning in crystal clear waters (ha) Fed some massive catfish.

The girls bought hats.
Visited the royal barge museum.
The glorious grand palace, my rucksack thermometer tips at 32Deg in the shade.
Back to the hotel, shower, change, pack and off to catch the overnight train to Den Chai.
Hayley who is our resident doormouse took the opportunity to have a doze on the platform.

Train on time and thanks to Pok's organisation we had bunks all together in a nice carriage with Air conditioning. Got our huge bags (half a tonne according to the flight scales) on safe and sound. My 50m roll of Gaffa tape used for the first time. Rebecca berated me for taking such a huge roll with me. The story will unwind.

So all in all a hectic day, onwards and upwards.
Gaffa Tape usage - 5m
